From The Swimsuit Round To The Talent Competition

First off I would like to apologize to everyone for not posting anything for the last month. We went on an epic journey that I'll explain sometime in the near future. At this moment though, I am more concerned with the upcoming election. More specifically I am worried about all of the attention that the McCain campaign has gotten for naming Sarah Palin as his running mate. To all of those people out there who think that it is a huge step forward for equality of the sexes, you need to find your spouse, roomate, significant other, or just call a good friend, tell them your opinion and then get them to slap right in the face as hard as they can. Trust me on this, we need to start forming an symbiosis in your mind between stupidity and pain. You'll thank me later. The truth is that Sarah Palin's nomination is the equivalent of Nightline doing a special on the adult film industry during sweeps week. Just because you see Ted Koppel talking about Jenna Jameson doesn't make her legitimate news, it just means that the network or in this case the Republican party need a little eye candy to get the masses to take a break from NASCAR and domestic violence for a minute and convince them that they know or care anything about politics.

Just take a look at Sarah Palin's prior experience. After attending a variety of fine schools in and around the Idaho area such as Hawaii Pacific College, North Idaho College, Matanuska-Susitna College, and finally the University of Idaho. She graduated with a degree in jounalism just like a professional athlete or a beauty pageant winner. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that during this period she was awarded a scholarship for being second runner-up in the Ms. Alaska pageant winning Miss Congeniality which bodes well for her foreign policy making ability. She seemed poised to take the national stage....doing the weather that is. Next she accepted a job as a sports reporter on a local tv network. Much like Ronald Reagan before her she now felt that she was prepared to turn her attention to politics. I'm going to stop right here because this is going on longer than I had planned and I know how short attention spans are these days. Tomorrow I promise to continue where I left off and explain how Palin is setting women in politics back more than 20 years. Until then just keep walking across that lonely bridge to nowhere.
