It’s not uncommon to grab a beer with some friends and play some drunken pool. It’s a great way to claim “I play better when I’m drunk” or as the people who suck claim “I’m better when I’m sober”. What many people don’t know, is that you can move beyond sharking these “I’m better when I’m sober” players and compete in weekly APA tournaments. The APA system is set up as Bar vs. Bar, where you can either join a team, or make like Hans and play solo. Either way you can show off your ability to drink and kick ass around town. If you don’t suck at pool as much as you do at life, you might even make it to the playoffs in Las Vegas -where even a Drunken Guru leaves broke and tired, with only an ass shot of penicillin as a consolation prize.

Whether you win or lose, it’s a great way to meet locals in a slew of bars ranging from complete dives (where old men teach you life lessons they learned in Nam) to swanky spots (with gold plated toilets that leave you no choice but to piss on the shoe of the dude in the next stall). The APA leagues in the OC are at the bars listed on the official OC APA website (just google it). We give this league an 8 outta 10 with an extra point for numerous foxy sharkettes.
